Before you need any repair there are several things you can do to avoid premature wear and tear. Put them into practice today!

TROUBLESHOOTING THE MOST COMMON DRYER'S ISSUES

Before calling a professional, you can easily perform a few routine checks. It’s always a pleasure to serve you. However, we’d be happy knowing you corrected the problem yourself. Consequently, our team has put together the following quick guide on basic dryer repair.

IT DAMAGES THE CLOTHES

If you notice your clothes are torn or ripped after removing them from the dryer, the drum support roller may be broken and need to be replaced. As a reminder, make sure to wash and dry delicate fabrics separately from clothes that have zippers or other rigid accessories that could damage them.

IT MAKES STRANGE NOISES

Your dryer may make strange noises if items like belts and buttons knock around during a dry cycle. However, loud sounds coming from your dryer are often an indication that the motor, drive belt or ventilation system are worn out. If you’ve ruled out items in your wash load as the source of the noise, call one of our technicians. Although your dryer may continue to operate normally, it will eventually break down.

IT DOESN’T DRY CLOTHES COMPLETELY

Are your clothes still soggy after a dry cycle? Make sure you use the appropriate dry cycle and regularly clean the lint filter. Next, make sure the exhaust hose isn’t kinked or clogged. Also, inspect the air outlet grille. If your dryer runs on gas, check the fuel level in the tank. Moreover, your washer may not be spinning properly, leaving your clothes wet. If you’ve ruled everything out, the heating elements, temperature control system or thermistor may be broken, leading to a lack of heat. In this case, contact one of our technicians for help.

IT OVERHEATS

If your dryer consistently overheats, you may be using the wrong dry cycle. Moreover, there could be a blocked filter, exhaust pipe or air outlet grille. If you’ve ruled out these possibilities, the overheating is likely due to a malfunction in the control or temperature reading system. If you think this is a possibility, call us immediately.

IT WON’T START

Is your dryer unresponsive? If so, ensure the door is securely closed and the drying options are in the correct start position. Then, make sure the electrical plug is fully inserted into the outlet and that you haven’t blown or tripped a circuit breaker or fuse. If everything looks normal, the control, motorization or drive system may have failed. In this case, it’s best to call one of our technicians.

IT WRINKLES CLOTHES

This can be caused by a number of things. You may have put too large a load in the dryer or left the clothes in the machine for too long after the cycle finished. It’s also possible that the fabric of the garments you’re drying are prone to wrinkling. Finally, note that faster spin speeds can result in wrinkled clothes. Keep in mind that many machines have options aimed at resolving this issue, such as extended tumble, wrinkle block and steam dry. If any of these options aren’t working, don’t hesitate to call us.
