Is one of your appliances out of order? At Ateliers G. Paquette, we specialize in appliance repair: we fix washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, stoves, wine cellars, cooktops, microwave ovens, dehumidifiers and more. Here's how to get ready for a visit from an appliance repair technician and consequently facilitate the repair.

MAKE WIRES AND PLUGS ACCESSIBLE

The repair person will likely have to test and disassemble various components of your appliance. Consequently, they’ll probably have to plug and unplug it at various stages of the process. You can help the repairperson in this task by making sure that the electrical wires and outlets are easy to access.

CLEAR THE WORK AREA

In the same vein, the technician will require space to work. Clear the area around your appliance so that it's accessible. For example, if your washer needs to be repaired, pull it out so that the repairman can easily get behind it. Also, clear away any unnecessary items, such as the laundry basket on your washing machine, the paperwork on top of your refrigerator or the splash-proof lid on your microwave.

CLEAN UP ANY DIRT

Since most people don't move their large appliances every day, dirt tends to accumulate on the sides and behind them. It’s therefore best to do a bit of vacuuming before the technician visits. They’ll no doubt be glad they don't have to kneel among dust bunnies when they change some part on your dishwasher, fridge or other appliance.

BE THERE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS

The person who receives the technician should understand what’s wrong with your appliance. Specifically, he or she should be able to answer questions such as:

When did the problem occur?

What did the appliance do at the time?

Has the appliance malfunctioned before or done anything strange?

At Ateliers G. Paquette, we are the source in Canada when it comes to the repair of appliances and the sale of their parts. Do you need components for your dishwasher? If so, we’re sure to have what you need! Perhaps you require the services of a repairman for your washer, dryer, stove, refrigerator or freezer? In this case, one of our technicians will come to your home in Montreal, Quebec City, Repentigny or elsewhere in the province. Contact us to get the part you’re missing or to make an appointment with one of our experts!
