FREEZER

I CAN’T GET MY FREEZER DOOR CLEAN!

Ordinary maintenance products like Windex® are not effective enough to remove food residue that may remain stuck on the outer metal walls of refrigerators. This is particularly the case for stainless steel appliances. Food residues leave marks on the stainless steel that must be removed by polishing with a cream cleanser such as STAINLESS POLISH (product number 903069). Once the stains and toxins have been removed from the stainless steel panel, a maintenance and protective product such as PRO LINK® (product number YA007C) must be sprayed on these surfaces to block the metal pores and protect against finger acids and fat from foods. To purchase these products, visit one of our stores or order them online.

A NOISE IS COMING FROM THE BACK OF MY FREEZER!

Modern refrigerators almost all have motor fans for air circulation, an electric defrost system, an ice machine, a system of ice distribution and low pressure lines that can make strange noises that can either be normal or can signal a possible defect. We have a team of experienced technicians who can tell the difference and give you an accurate picture of why your appliance is making noise. Call us right away.

THE INSIDE OF MY FREEZER IS NOISY!

Modern refrigerators almost all have motor fans for air circulation, an electric defrost system, an ice machine, a system of ice distribution and low pressure lines that can make strange noises that can either be normal or can signal a possible defect. THE ICE MAKER STOPPED MAKING ICE!

Ice machines have a drive motor, a thermostatic system and a mechanical system for heating and expulsion of ice. Any of these functions can need repairs. In this case, a visit by one of our technicians is probably necessary. Call us right away.

MY FREEZER SMELLS BAD!

Food odours such as onions and strawberries can combine with odours of other products in your refrigerator to produce a bad smell.

The inside walls of your refrigerator should be cleaned every 3 months to avoid this kind of unpleasant odour. However, freezer vent lines are not accessible to be cleaned with conventional products such as Hertel, as is the case for the freezer walls.

Activated carbon filters such as Fridge Aid (product number 78956) last for almost a year, unlike baking soda, and are available for standard refrigerators. Just place these filters on your refrigerator shelf and they will absorb odours from onion and milk and other foods. To purchase these products, visit one of our stores or
order them online.

MY REFRIGERATOR IS DISPLAYING AN ERROR CODE!

The error codes that can be easily resolved are included in the user manual. For example, the PF code means there is a power failure. Consult your user manual to find out what the codes mean.

If the error code displayed on your device is not in your user manual, it is probably related to a major issue involving the electronic controls in your refrigerator. In this case, a visit by one of our technicians is probably necessary.

THERE IS FROST IN THE FREEZER!

Check that the door closes properly. A door left ajar overnight will cause an abnormal accumulation of ice in the freezer.

Check that the door seals are not cracked.

Freezers with frosted shelves require a full defrost with total shutdown of the unit, and every 3-6 months depending on use and location of the device.

Modern freezers are equipped with an automatic defrost system comprising a mechanical or electronic frost control as well as defrost heaters and thermostatic safety features. All these components can cause defrost malfunctions and lead to an abnormal build up of frost in the freezer. In this case, a visit by one of our technicians is probably necessary.
Call us without delay.

MY FREEZER IS NOT COLD!

Check that the door closes properly. A door left ajar overnight will cause the temperature to rise.

Check the control settings of the unit. The freezer should be at 0 ° F (-18 ° C).

Check that all components are working (compressor, compressor cooling fan, freezer evaporator fan, etc.). Would you like one of
our technicians to verify your appliance?
